Dr. Jyoti Mayadev MD

Dr. Mayadev is the medical director of gynecologic brachytherapy and chief of the gynecologic malignancy disease team in the division of clinical and translational research at the University of California. She oversees the clinical focus and translational research aspect of image guided brachytherapy for gynecologic cancers. She is also a member of the breast cancer disease team.

Dr. Mayadev is a widely recognized national leader in the field of gynecologic radiation therapy and image guided brachytherapy for gynecology oncology. She is co-chair of the national NRG oncology cooperative group phase I/developmental therapeutics committee, and a core member of the cervical cancer committee. She participates in the strategy and key design elements of cervical cancer national trials for the execution of new treatment paradigms and analysis for gynecology oncology patients. Furthermore, she is the national principal investigator on phase I clinical trials in cervical cancer exploring the use of immunotherapy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. She is widely published, and received grant funding including Varian Medical Systems and Koman for the Cure.

Prior to her arrival at UC San Diego, Dr. Mayadev was the director of brachytherapy at UC Davis, where she initiated their image guided brachytherapy programs, and lead the gynecologic and breast oncology research programs in radiation oncology. She has received awards for her teaching and clinical expertise, including “Educator of the Year,” and the “Dean’s Award for Gynecologic Interstitial Brachytherapy”. Dr. Mayadev is a consistently invited speaker at the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) national conference, and the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS) to further knowledge and research in radiation oncology. Dr. Mayadev conceived, designed and developed the “Image Guided Brachytherapy Handbook”, and served as the Editor-in-Chief, published by Springer.

Dr. Siddartha Laskar

Dr Laskar currently works as a Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

He specializes in the management of Pediatric, Hematolymphoid, & Musculoskeletal malignancies with special interest in Interstitial Brachytherapy for Adults & Children, Complex External Beam Radiotherapy Techniques, Total Body Irradiation for BMT & Magna Field Irradiation.





Dr William Keough Phd

Will graduated with a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the UCLA School of Medicine and he has practiced in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Will has been involved in LDR prostate brachytherapy since 1981. He is currently head of brachytherapy at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. The centre performs approximately 100 LDR prostate implants per year. As Director of Medical Physics at Renown Regional Medical Centre in Reno, Nevada, WilI was responsible for all special procedures including LDR and HDR Brachytherapy. Additionally, Will has experience in tomotherapy and Novalis IMRT / IGRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, SABR, treatment planning and dosimetry. Will’s current teaching responsibilities include lecturing in brachytherapy to oncology registrars, medical physicists, and clinical technologists. He also instructs clinical scientists from the UK and Ireland in real-time LDR Brachytherapy treatment planning and implant procedures.
